छाया ग्रह राहु-केतु का विवेचन ...
Mythology as a symbol is alive and lives everyday life. The  Asuras envied and hated the Devas as  Asuras could never defeat them. The churning of the ocean created the ultimate possibility of finding the nectar that could give them an edge over Devas. The magnificent Vasuki gave consent to become the rope as no one else was powerful enough to churn the majestic ocean. Vasuki is the signature of the naga symbol of power and strength.
At the time of serving nectar, it was the Rahu the clever maverick whose sharp instincts did not let him trust Mohini the disguised form of Vishnu. While revealing Devas' deception, Rahu lost his lower body as Vishnu cut him in two parts later being known as Ketu. The Devas are eternal at war with the Asuras. Even today after the trillion years of mythology mere mortals are still fighting. The good and bad go to war every day be it the world politics or the everyday common man`s life.
The entry of Rahu- Ketu in the planetary sequence has great importance. The placement of Rahu and Ketu in the natal chart says a lot about the querent. His desires, his past karma, and his capability to deal with the churning. The churning will bring out poison and nectar both. Will he be able to handle the poison like Shiva and enjoy the nectar or burn in the poisonous fumes.
The only best position for Rahu is the only 11th house, Ketu, the follower gets placed in 5th taking over the past karmas and limiting the house deliverance. The 5th house also represents mantra sadhana.  It questions the luxury soaked man `s wish to pray the divine. But that only happens if he is in misery.
Ketu does not have a brain so he also is away from desires. Ketu acts as a disconnector in the string of the ongoing events, one of the reasons sages call him a spiritual planet. Ketu is the most important planet for all spiritual leaders. The renouncement has a name that is Ketu.
Rahu is the unlimited material desires and Ketu is the spiritual self that seeks God. Together both Asuras, born out of chaos bring in disorder and commotion, something that they are fond of. The onset of Rahu mahadasha at younger age is tough to handle. The 17-year long dasa, if not at the right stage in life can knock you off for good. Ketu can still be tolerated as it is only a 7-year dasa.
Krishnamurti Paddhati does not accept and Kaal sarpa dosa. There are other methods of judging the Rahu-Ketu  effect in the natal chart. Interpretation of dasa and the guidance calls for high experience and maturity.  The astrologer carries the moral responsibility of being very learned and experienced to interpret for the native.
